On October 29, 2025, in commemoration of the 35th Anniversary of the Declaration of State Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Institute of Economics hosted a high-level Roundtable titled “Қазақстандағы жас ғалым: мүмкіндіктер, кедергілер және жарияланымдарға мотивация” (The Young Scientist in Kazakhstan: Opportunities, Barriers, and Motivation for Publication).
The event brought together emerging PhD specialists and seasoned researchers from leading scientific centers and universities across the country.
Participants engaged in expert discussions concerning publication activity and, crucially, the strategic role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital tools in accelerating and enhancing the quality of contemporary research.
The Roundtable’s agenda delivered specific and applied methodology to the attendees. Key contributions included: Olzhas Adilhanov, PhD, shared practical, actionable advice on the methodology for writing and successfully defending a PhD dissertation. Nurbolat Nyshanbay, PhD, an Associate Professor at Turan University, detailed how AI is rapidly transforming the landscape of academic research and how researchers can leverage these tools to secure a competitive advantage. Aisulu Moldabekova, Head of Zertteu Lab, addressed the critical foundation of any robust study: how to accurately formulate a research problem to ensure the attainment of relevant and meaningful results.
