The project aim is theoretical and methodological substantiation of the essence of the innovation infrastructure within the framework of various types of innovation systems, assessment of the state and development of an atlas of the innovation infrastructure of Kazakhstan.

Project objectives:

Stage 1, 2023 – Theoretical and methodological substantiation of the essence of the innovation infrastructure within the framework of various types of innovation systems: substantiation of the definition and structure of the innovation infrastructure; identifying the features of the innovation infrastructure within the framework of various types of innovation systems (national, regional, technological, sectoral); studying the impact of digitalization on the innovation infrastructure development; analysis and systematization of digital models and information systems in the field of innovation infrastructure development;.

Stage 2, 2024 – Assessment of the state of Kazakhstan’s innovation infrastructure: analysis of Kazakhstan’s innovation infrastructure at the national and regional levels; assessment of the level of representation of innovative infrastructure objects in the digital space; collection and processing of primary data on the objects of Kazakhstan’s innovation infrastructure; construction of passports of objects of Kazakhstan’s innovation infrastructure.

Stage 3, 2025 – Development of an atlas of Kazakhstan’s innovation infrastructure: development of terms of reference for the creation of a digital information system «Atlas of Kazakhstan’s innovative infrastructure»; creation and filling of the information system «Atlas of Kazakhstan’s innovative infrastructure»; determination of priority directions for virtualization of objects of Kazakhstan’s innovative infrastructure; development of recommendations for improving the mechanisms for digitalization of Kazakhstan’s innovation infrastructure.

Expected results:

Stage 1, 2023 – The definitions and structure of the innovation infrastructure are substantiated. Identified the features of the innovation infrastructure within the framework of various types of innovation systems (national, regional, technological, sectoral). Studied the impact of digitalization on the innovation infrastructure development. Analyzed and systematized digital models and information systems in the innovative infrastructure development.

Stage 2, 2024 – Analyzed the Kazakhstan’s innovation infrastructure at the national and regional levels. Assessed the level of representation of innovative infrastructure objects in the digital space. Collected and processed the primary data on the objects of Kazakhstan’s innovation infrastructure. Passports of objects of Kazakhstan’s innovation infrastructure were built.

Stage 3, 2025 – Developed terms of reference for the creation of a digital information system «Atlas of Kazakhstan’s innovative infrastructure». The information system «Atlas of Kazakhstan’s innovative infrastructure» was created and filled. Identified the priority areas for virtualization of objects of Kazakhstan’s innovation infrastructure. Developed the recommendations to improve the mechanisms for digitalization of Kazakhstan’s innovation infrastructure.
