A national scientific and practical seminar entitled “Scientific Journals of Kazakhstan: Quality, Management, and International Integration” was held at the Karaganda Research University named after Academician E.A. Buketov. The event, organized with the support of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, served as an important platform for discussing strategies to promote national academic journals in international databases such as Scopus and WoS.

The seminar was opened with a keynote presentation by Anel A. Kireyeva, Cand. Sc. (Econ.), Associate Professor. Within the framework of the round table discussion, the Deputy Editor-in-Chief presented a successful case of the transformation and inclusion of the journal “Economy: Strategy and Practice” in the international bibliographic database Scopus.

During the discussion, participants addressed key barriers faced by local academic journals, practical steps for aligning editorial policies with global standards, the implementation of transparent manuscript selection mechanisms, methods for increasing citation impact, and approaches to integrating Kazakhstani research into the global scientific and information space, as well as mechanisms for overcoming these challenges.
