KAZAKHSTANI SCIENTIST ON THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE OF THE STI-ENID 2026 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

Gulnaz Alibekova, lead researcher and deputy director for international relations of the Institute of Economics is invited to join the Scientific Committee for the 30th Annual Conference on Science and Technology Indicators (STI-ENID), which will be held at the University of Antwerp in Belgium from 9th to 11th September 2026. The conference will bring together leading scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to discuss the latest developments in science and technology indicators, research evaluation, and related policy implications. The STI-ENID is one of the oldest research measurement and policy communities in Europe with this year being our 30th conference.

The theme for the 2026 STI-ENID conference is “Indicators for a responsible research future”. Responsible Research (RR) is an approach to research that anticipates and assesses its potential implications and societal expectations of it in order to make inclusive and sustainable. Key topics will include diversity, inclusivity, openness, and sustainability in research assessment and policy. Participants will discuss how STI indicators can align with societal values, long-term goals, and the challenges of an uncertain future.
