Participation of the Institute of Economics in the 12th ICSD 2024 Conference and Signing of Cooperation Memorandum with the European Center for Sustainable Development

Scientific researchers of the Institute of Economics of the SC MSHE RK DoE, associated professor Alzhanova F.G., DoE, associated professor Tleuberdinova A.T.,  and DoE, Professor Nurlanova N.K. within the framework of the tasks of Megagrant BR21882122 «Sustainable Development of Natural-Economic and Socio-Economic Systems of the West Kazakhstan Region in the Context of Green Growth: Comprehensive Analysis, Concept, Forecasts and Scenarios» on September 11-12, 2024 took part in the work of the 12th International Conference on Sustainable Development (12th ICSD 2024 – 12th ICSD 2024) on the topic: «Creating a unified foundation for the Sustainable Development: research, practice and education». The conference was representative, with scientists from 80 countries participating, working on various aspects of the problem of sustainable development. It was held on the platform of the Rome Congress Center Eventi – (Pontifical Gregorian University) and was organized by the European Center for Sustainable Development. Employees of the Institute of Economics Alzhanova F.G., Tleuberdinova A.T. and Nurlanova N.K. made presentations and a poster presentation on the topic: «Food security and self-sufficiency as a factor of the country’s sustainable development: assessment methods and solutions» and «Sustainable Development Goals – Challenges for Western Macroregion of Kazakhstan (Aktobe, Atyrau, Mangystau, West-Kazakhstan regions). The presentations on Kazakhstan aroused great interest among the conference participants, among whom were representatives from Poland, Latvia, Germany, Japan, Indonesia, Moldova and other countries. The 12th ICSD 2024 Conference featured an exchange of ideas, a discussion of problems, methodology and key findings on various aspects of sustainable development with foreign scientists, including on the Tracks (sections) Economic sustainability, Socio-Cultural sustainability, Environmental sustainability and State sustainability. Following the conference, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Institute of Economics of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Center for Sustainable Development, the abstracts of the report were published in the conference materials and Certificates of gratitude for participation were received.
