Annotation
The goal of the project is to substantiate the strategic direction and develop mechanisms for the formation of a “green” economy in the oil and gas complex of Kazakhstan in conditions of limited resources, based on resource conservation.
Project objectives:
- Develop theoretical and methodological foundations for the resource-saving use of oil and gas raw materials.
- Carry out an analysis of the existing production potential of the oil and gas complex and justify the need for the formation and development of a “green” economy in the oil and gas complex.
- Develop organizational, economic, regulatory and legislative mechanisms for the formation of a “green” economy in the oil and gas complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Expected results:
– development of theoretical and methodological foundations for the resource-saving use of oil and gas raw materials;
– justification of the need to form a “green” economy in the oil and gas complex based on resource conservation;
– development of organizational, economic, regulatory and legislative mechanisms for the formation of a “green” economy in the oil and gas complex of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Results for 2024:
The prerequisites for the transition of the oil and gas complex from a raw material model of development to a resource-saving one have been identified. The environmental risks and threats of oil and gas complex enterprises to the environment from various kinds of pollution and greenhouse gas emissions have been identified. The assessment of the degree of greening of the oil and gas complex is given and the main reasons for the weak susceptibility of its enterprises to the introduction of environmentally friendly technologies are identified.
5 articles have been published in domestic publications.
Results of the 1st quarter for 2025:
The necessity of forming high-tech gas chemical industries for the efficient use of associated petroleum gas in order to minimize harmful emissions is substantiated; the directions of decarbonization of the oil and gas complex industries are determined; schemes of petrochemical clusters based on the integrated use of raw materials are developed.
