Project Scientific Supervisor – Khalitova Madina Muratovna, D.Sc. in Economics, ass. professor. Chief Researcher at the Institute of Economics of the CS of the MSHE of the RK.

Aim: to define the necessary conditions, factors and develop a mechanism for the transformation of the economic thinking and behavior of the population, which would contribute to ensuring its social well-being and financial stability within the framework of Kazakhstan’s new economic policy.

The tasks of project:

First stage (2024). justification theoretical approaches to changing population’s economic thinking of the country by increasing economic knowledge level. The system of indicators for assessment and analysis of Kazakhstani society’s economic behavior will be grounded.

Second stage (2025). to analyze the economic thinking and behavior of modern Kazakh society in the context of the implementation of the new economic policy.

Third stage (2026). objective is to develop a mechanism for transforming population’s economic thinking, which will help to ensure its social well-being and financial stability within the framework of the implementation of Kazakhstan’s new economic policy.

Expected results of the study:

First stage (2024) – the definition of modern economic thinking’s structural elements, methods of analyzing economic thinking and factors influencing economic thinking and behavior of modern society will be studied.

Second stage (2025) – The outcome of this stage of the research will involve the identification of the peculiarities of economic thinking and behavior among the population of Kazakhstan. Economic incompatibilities influencing the economic behavior of Kazakhstani society will be uncovered. Additionally, the study aims to identify specific features related to the enhancement of the level of economic education and culture within the country, serving as primary methods for altering economic thinking and behavior.

Third stage (2026) – A mechanism will be developed to monitor the economic behaviour of the population.

The basis of the mechanism will be the formation of economic thinking on the basis of socio-economic compatibility and interaction with the new economic policy of the state.

Results for 2024:

The forms and types of modern economic thinking are highlighted.

The main forms of economic behavior are also defined, which include the following types: rational, consumer, entrepreneurial and investment.

A SWOT analysis of the impact of the level of education and awareness on economic behavior is made.

The global economic factors influencing economic thinking and behavior are highlighted

Psychological factors influencing economic behavior have been identified.

The stages of the development of the psychology of economic behavior are highlighted

The influence of factors on various groups of the population, reflecting the peculiarities of their economic behavior, is substantiated.

An overview of the main elements of economic thinking identified by researchers and their main content is given.

The author’s vision of the structural components of economic thinking is presented.

The methods of assessing the features of economic thinking and behavior by measurable parameters are investigated and grouped. A battery of 6 modern techniques has been selected, and a questionnaire has been compiled that identifies the main demographic indicators of respondents needed for this study.

Two reports have been published in collections of international scientific and practical conferences.

Results of the 1st quarter for 2025:

The factors influencing the modern economic behavior and thinking of the Kazakh society in the new economic conditions are highlighted. A sociological survey was conducted using six questionnaires developed at the previous stage. The results of the sociological survey are analyzed
