Exploring the impact of economic, social, and environmental factors on the relationship between urbanization and greenhouse gas emissions»

A brief description of the goal of the project. The aim of the project is a comprehensive study of the impact of economic, social and environmental processes on the relationship between urbanization and greenhouse gas emissions, the development on this basis of practical recommendations and mechanisms for sustainable economic development of cities in Kazakhstan.

2023 – To substantiate theoretical and current approaches to sustainable urban development and identify economic, social, and environmental factors affecting the relationship between urbanization and greenhouse gas emissions.

2024 – Development of the author’s methodology for assessing the relationship between urbanization and greenhouse gas emissions and testing it, as well as an analysis of economic, social and environmental indicators of urban development in Kazakhstan.

2025 – Development of practical recommendations and mechanisms for sustainable economic development of cities in Kazakhstan.

Expected results.

The results of the study will be as follows:

2023theoretical and current approaches to sustainable urban development will be substantiated, and the economic, social, and environmental factors affecting the relationship between urbanization and greenhouse gas emissions will be identified;

2024 the author’s methodology for assessing the relationship between urbanization and greenhouse gas emissions will be developed and tested, and the economic, social and environmental indicators of urban development in Kazakhstan will be analyzed;

2025 practical recommendations and mechanisms for sustainable economic development of cities in Kazakhstan will be developed.
