TRAINING OF SCIENTIFIC PERSONNEL ON THE BASIS OF THE INSTITUTE OF ECONOMICS OF THE COMMITTEE OF SCIENCE OF THE MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

(EDUCATIONAL GRANTS FROM THE MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN)

The Institute of Economics trains a new generation of highly qualified scientific personnel on the basis of the Institute’s priority research areas in the field of economics. The training of scientific personnel through research activities as part of scientific schools is an important link in the system of reproduction of the intellectual potential of the country.

Since 2014, joint educational programs with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University have been implemented as part of the integration of science and education.  Every year, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education allocates grants for doctoral and master’s degree studies at the Institute of Economics.

From 2014 to the present, the Institute of Economics has allocated 20 grants for doctoral studies and 50 grants for master’s degree. 12 specialists graduated. 8 doctoral and 49 master’s degree defenses took place. Almost all graduates of the doctoral program work at the Institute, continuously improving their qualifications. So, among the heads of departments of the Institute there are graduates of our doctoral program who have received a PhD degree and the title of associate professor. The Scientific Secretary of the Institute, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists, head of the ZertteuLab laboratory are young scientists who are also followers of the scientific school of the Institute of Economics.

The distinctive features of the Institute’s educational programs are that they are author’s courses developed by prominent scientists who head recognized scientific schools and have extensive research experience.

PhD training programs provide fundamental educational, methodological and research training and in-depth study of disciplines in relevant areas of economics necessary for scientific, pedagogical, managerial or other professional activities.

Scientific consulting of doctoral students and scientific guidance of undergraduates is carried out by leading scientists of the Institute with significant experience in research and teaching activities. Undoubtedly, this has a positive effect on the quality of training of young researchers.

Doctoral and undergraduates have the opportunity to participate directly and be executors of the Institute’s research projects. This approach makes it possible to train personnel who are able to independently and creatively conduct scientific research in their chosen specialty. Thus, the most important issues of staffing of Kazakh science are being solved.

Currently, on the basis of the Institute of Economics, masters and PhD doctors are being trained in the following specialties: Economics; World economy; Innovation management; State and local management; Marketing.
