SCHOLARS DISCUSS THE CONTRIBUTION OF HUMANITIES TO STRENGTHENING CIVIC IDENTITY

In Almaty, at the Ghylym Ordasy House of Science, a round table titled “The Role of Social Sciences and Humanities in the Space Shaped by the New Constitution” was held as part of the Science Day celebrations. Leading scholars and researchers from the institutes of economics, linguistics named after A. Baitursynov, as well as philosophy, political science and religious studies took part in the discussion.

As an invited speaker, Ye.Ye. Duisenov Doctor of Law, Professor and member of the working group on drafting the new Constitution  addressed the audience with an overview of key issues surrounding the 2026 constitutional reform. Also speaking were prominent scholars including O.S. Sabden Doctor of Economics, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Union of Scientists of Kazakhstan, Academician of the National Engineering Academy of Kazakhstan; A.A. Satybaldyn Doctor of Economics, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan; A.K. Saduakasova Doctor of Sociology; and A.M. Fazylzhan  Candidate of Philological Sciences.

Participants emphasized the key role of the humanities and social sciences in strengthening civic identity and the strategic development of society. Based on the outcomes of the round table, recommendations were adopted on the further advancement of humanitarian research and the effective use of the opportunities presented by the new Constitution.
